1910 Edward VII One Penny – Lustrous Bronze – Full Strike with Iridescent Toning – Choice Grade

This listing is for a genuine 1910 Bronze One Penny of King Edward VII, struck at the Royal Mint, London. This superb late-issue penny showcases original mint lustre and delicate rainbow toning — an exceptional survivor from the final year of the Edwardian bronze series.

The coin displays superb surfaces and full underlying brilliance, enhanced by iridescent hues of violet, blue, and gold across both sides. The detail is sharp throughout, with crisp definition to Britannia’s trident and the King’s portrait, marking it as a choice specimen rarely encountered in such vibrant condition.

Historical Context

The 1910 penny marks the last year of issue under Edward VII, concluding one of the most artistically admired coinage designs of the 20th century. The series, crafted by George William de Saulles, reflected Britain’s industrial confidence and imperial grandeur at the dawn of a new century. Coins from this final year often suffered from wear or spotting — thus, examples retaining full mint lustre are prized among collectors.

An outstanding example of late-Edwardian bronze coinage.

Collectors’ Notes

High-grade 1910 pennies are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly with full natural lustre and pleasing toning. This piece exemplifies the final evolution of Victorian-style bronze coinage before the transition to George V, and would make a first-rate addition to any advanced type or date collection.
